Bell & Ross BR 03 Diver Matte Black Ceramic luxury replica watches
In early summer 2024, Bell & Ross launched its latest collection of underwater watches, the updated BR 03 Diver. Available in at least five styles (to begin with), the BR 03 Diver uses Bell & Ross’ updated BR 03 case style to create one of the best looking square dive watches ever made. Today, I review the Matte Black Ceramic Bell & Ross BR 03 Diver Reference BR03A-D-BL-CE/SRB.
Bell & Ross has started producing diver-style watches, and its BR 02 series has not been in production for some time. The BR 02 debuted a few years after the release of the famous BR 01 Cockpit Instrument series, around 2004. The BR 03 case series was launched after the BR 02 and is a narrower version of the BR 01. Since then, the BR 03 (BR03) series of 41-42mm wide square watches has been a bestseller for the Parisian brand. Bell & Ross replica men watch has had the BR 03 Diver in its collection for some time, with the series’ main visual differentiator being the hands. There are other differences, such as the movement and the font on the bezel insert, but there’s no denying that the updated BR 03 Diver is an evolution, not a revolution. Other than the different hands, at first glance, most people probably wouldn’t know that the 2024 BR03 Diver series is noticeably different from its predecessors. I will say, though, that I prefer the new hands (as a dive watch dial) to the previous design of the BR 03 Divers.
In many ways, watches like the BR 03 Diver are what Bell & Ross does best. That is taking a tool watch archetype and presenting it in a glamorous, sexy way. That’s actually how I define Bell & Ross – the company is more of a Parisian fashion house than a traditional watchmaker. As such, this completely non-bling watch is designed to evoke the no-nonsense calm of a tool built for extreme conditions. Yet it does so in terms of elegance, symmetry, materials, and ergonomics. The appeal of the Bell & Ross square case has not diminished for me over the years, and it looks just as good as a dive watch as it does as an aircraft cockpit instrument high quality replica watches (for which the case style was originally designed).
As a dive watch, the BR 03 Diver is 42mm wide, about 13mm thick, and water-resistant to 300 meters. With short lugs and a length of about 53mm, it will fit medium to larger wrists. It is more wearable than the BR 01, which is why the BR 03 is so popular. For this new generation, the brand has added a ceramic bezel insert to the BR 03 Diver—earlier models used an aluminum bezel insert. Looking closely, you’ll also notice that a new, more modern font is used for the numbers on the bezel. In addition, both the markings and numbers are coated with SuperLuminova.
Another update for 2024 is the movement used inside the watch. I believe it is a Swiss made Sellita in base, but Bell & Ross calls it the BR-CAL.302-1. This is an update to the BR-CAL.302. The difference is in the power reserve rating, which is 54 hours with the BR-CAL.302-1. I don’t know if this was achieved by using a larger barrel or creating a more efficient pivot/movement point in the movement, or both. The movement runs at 4Hz and has both the time and small date indication windows that are cleverly placed between the 4 and 5 o’clock hour markers on the dial.
I really like the dial design of the BR 03 Diver replica luxury watches, which includes the rounded hour and minute markers on the beveled flange ring. The absence of shiny or polished surfaces greatly improves legibility and also helps maintain the plain instrument look that Bell & Ross was going for. The case has a crown guard structure with reminder text to ensure the screw-down crown is secure and water resistant. While this reminder may seem a bit redundant to watch enthusiasts, for the average person, an unscrewed crown is a common way for water to get into the case (and thus cause expensive damage to the watch).
Bell & Ross offers two straps for the BR 03 Diver, including this premium black rubber strap and a high-quality black textile strap. Changing them isn’t exactly a very simple task, as it requires tools (a quick-adjust system would be great – though perhaps not as secure), but at least Bell & Ross includes them in the tool kit. How comfortable is the watch overall? The somewhat heavy case can slide against your wrist if you don’t wear it snug enough. That being said, when I wore it snug enough, I found it to be quite comfortable and not too big. I like the look of the squared-off case on my wrist – it makes it worthwhile to try out a variety of looks.
While Bell & Ross has never been a value leader, its prices look quite reasonable compared to some other brands that have raised their prices significantly. I don’t think Bell & Ross plans to do that, and for now the watches are reasonably priced because the design and build quality are great.
